Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Learning Support Teacher (or Inclusive Education Teacher) committed to delivering an inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. In this role, you will collaborate with classroom teachers and work closely with our Diverse Learning team to create an environment where every student can thrive. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mathematics and learning support/intervention, adapt curriculum to diverse learning needs, and leverage technology to enhance accessibility. We are especially keen to hear from educators with a mathematics background who are passionate about supporting diverse learners.

About TGS

Founded in 1875, TGS is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS).  It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.  There are 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

About the Position

TGS Teachers play a pivotal role in designing and delivering innovative teaching programs aligned with our learning philosophies. Your expertise will contribute to cultivating an environment that empowers students to become confident, independent thinkers. You will collaborate with a supportive academic team and engage with various stakeholders, including parents and fellow educators.

Selection Criteria:

You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

  1. Teaching Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in designing and delivering innovative teaching programs aligned with Queensland and Australian curriculums. A deep understanding of effective pedagogical practices and the ability to tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and student needs.

  2. Subject Matter Knowledge and Curriculum Development: Demonstrated expertise in your subject area with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts, inspire student interest, and collaboratively design and adapt curriculum to meet educational standards and school values.

  3. Professional Engagement and Contribution (Aligned with School ethos and AITSL Standards): Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth, active participation in the broader school community (including co-curricular activities, House system, and pastoral care), fostering a positive and inclusive school culture, upholding the school's ethos and values, mentoring students, and continually refining teaching practice in accordance with AITSL standards.
